New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday unveiled the second tranche of fiscal stimulus, emphasizing ‘one nation, one ration card’.
During the press transient, the Finance Minister mentioned, “Technology systems will be used to enable migrants to access Public Distribution System (ration) from any fair price shop in India by March 2021 — one nation, one ration card.”

“As many as 67 crore beneficiaries in 23 states covering 83 per cent of the PDS population will be covered by national portability by August 2020. One-hundred per cent national portability will be achieved by March 2021. All states and UTs will complete full FPS automation by March 2021,” she added.

Subsidy for reasonably priced housing
FM Nirmala Sitharman introduced that the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) for center revenue teams to purchase reasonably priced housing items can be prolonged until March 31, 2021.
The scheme was final prolonged until March 2020.
Sitharaman mentioned that the extension would profit 2.5 lakh center revenue households. So far, the scheme has benefitted 3.Three lakh center class households, she added.
The Finance Minister mentioned that it’ll result in an funding of Rs 70,000 crore within the housing sector and likewise create jobs.
As per the federal government, the choice will stimulate demand for metal, cement, transport and different building supplies.
Affordable rental housing for migrants, city poor
The Centre will launch a scheme below the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for migrant labour and the city poor to construct reasonably priced rental housing services for them.
Nirmala Sitharaman mentioned that below the scheme, government-funded housing in several cities can be transformed into reasonably priced rental housing complexes below the public-private partnership mode.

Work provided to 2.33 crore employees
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman mentioned work had been provided to 2.33 crore wagers in 1.87 lakh panchayats below the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.
FM mentioned, “Work under the MGNREGA has been provided to 2.33 crore wagers in 1.87 lakh panchayats to benefit migrant workers, who are being actively enrolled.”
The authorities had generated 14.62 crore persondays of labor until May 13, which was 40-50 per cent extra in contrast with May 2019. “This is to help migrant labourers find work who have returned to their home states,” she mentioned.
